W(o/a)ndering a(b/r)ou(t/nd) the world with curiosity
This September I was fortunate to be selected for the OpenAI x Anima Hackathon.
Out team worked the patient-side of the NHS app, providing taylored pathways to help patients prepare
for their operations. These are usually multi-step processing requiring several rounds of
blood tests, preparatory physio, and other restrictions. Keeping all of this information
in one place with a clear visual outline will hopefully reduce the number of missed operations
and reduce any risks associated with preparation.
More than anything, it was incredible to meet the other hackers and the Anima team. As an international
student I never thought much about the NHS and it's problems, so this event was insightful both for
learning more about the current problems and about what can be done to fix them. Looking
at the winning projects also helped me understand better which solutions are
considered more valuable and why. Overally, very inspiring event.
